Dress Codes – Ballet Aligned

Mini and Beginnings classes have no dress code. Ballet slippers are encouraged. For performing dancers, dress code tights, and slippers (and leotards, depending on the production) are required, though these need NOT be worn IN CLASS. To purchase these performance dress code items, see links below.

Ballet Basics I & II, Pre-Company

Tights:
Children sizes ($20) Kids Snag Resistent Tight in BALLET PINK
Ballet slippers:
Children's size - Full Sole Ballet Shoe in BALLET PINK; Boys in BLACK
Leotard: (MAY be required in Performance roles)
Girls Short Sleeve High Back Leotard - in BLACK
Hair for Girls:
Slicked back in Ballet Bun (required of Basics II and Foundations Prep).

Boys:
Black athletic shorts that come above the knee and a tight, white t-shirt; ballet slippers (can be worn without socks OR with ankle athletic white socks):

Jr. and Sr. Company

Orders for ballet slippers and leos ordered through Ballet Aligned (see below) will be placed two weeks after the start of each semester. (If your dancer is still in children's sizes, please see the links above for tights and shoes.)

Adult size - 2-Way Stretch Split Sole - Women in BALLET PINK; Men in BLACK

Womens Cotton Princess Seam Leotard - in BLACK
Hair: Slicked back in a ballet bun
Gentlemen: Ballet slippers, tights, dance belt, tight t-shirt, hair neat and away from face

PERFORMANCE MAKE-UP:

Ballet Aligned provides and does the lipstick and blush for our dancers ages 3-14. (If you wish to, you may add foundation and mascara at home. Please apply a clear chapstick to your child's lips before dropping them off so our lipstick will go on smoothly.) We select blush and lipstick colors and brands specific to the stage and that will look good on everyone, regardless of the stage lighting. If you wish to purchase your own make-up, it should be the following products. (Do not choose off-brand items. They will not look good and a teacher will remove your child's make-up and apply ours.)

Dancers age 15+ are responsible to have and apply their own make-up. These products and brands are still recommended. If they select products that don't look good on our stage, they will be invited to remove what they have applied and use our colors.
